The houseboats on the Thames in London or on the canals of Amsterdam are not something you’d expect to see in the centre of Edinburgh but tucked away in the Lochrin Basin is the Four Sisters Boatel, moored on the Union Canal and close to the city centre and restaurants and bars such as Cargo, Hyde Out & Zizi’s. You can access the boat from Lower Gilmore Street or Fountainbridge. At 55′ by 10′ 6″ with 6′ 4″ of headroom, the boat can sleep up to 4 adults and 2 children under 10 years. A double bed-settee is also available in the lounge area to accommodate larger groups. The purpose built, permanently moored, static wide-beam houseboat provides an interesting and sea-sick-free alternative to the Premier Inns of the city.
