Here’s a sneak preview of the cakes on offer at the new Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries which opens to the public today, 18 May. The brioche buns (pictured below) are delicious and there’s a good selection of vegan and gluten free cakes. Heaven Scent, who already have a successful cafe in Milnathort and run the catering at Knockhill, won the tender to provide the cafe in the new award-winning

When Coal was King: free history expo at Kingsgate Dunfermline

Opening today 17 May is When Coal Was King, a series of events in and around the Kingsgate Shopping Centre Dunfermline highlighting the importance mining played in the history of the town and the surrounding areas. There will be exhibitions, storytelling, children’s activities and one of artist Alan Grieve’s famous interactive colouring-in walls. The event is free and runs until 21 May.
