Stay in The Loop with new Fife music and culture show

Glasgow has Tenement TV, Washington has Tiny Desk, London has Sofar Sounds and now Dunfermline has The Loop, an ambitious new project from Loopmaniac Studios. The Youtube-hosted show features live music sessions from performers – local and from further afield – whose music makes the hair on the back of producer Liam Saunders’ hair stand on end, as well as interviews and coverage of art exhibitions and other cultural events.

London cast of Blood Brothers come to The Alhambra

Here’s a superb tv appearance by Barbara Dickson, the first and by many people’s reckoning the best, Mrs Johnstone in Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers. Blood Brothers is currently on a 30th anniversary UK tour featuring The New Seeker’s Lyn Paul in the lead role and it’s coming to the Alhambra from 23-28 October. Outwith Festival – new arts event for Dunfermline!

Four days, eleven venues and over fifty talented performers including acclaimed artists, writers, comedians and musicians: Avocado Sweet, along with Dunfermline Delivers, Fire Station Creative and Caroline Copeland, are very proud to be one of the founding partners of an exciting new cultural event coming to Dunfermline in September.  Outwith Festival will include a major new art work, a book launch, readings by authors and playwrights, cutting edge comedy and improvised theatre.

The Skids & the Scottish Punk Revolution 1977 at FSC

Ina Forsman in Dunfermline for Fife Jazz Festival

Young Finnish blues star Ina Forsman takes to the stage at the Carnegie Hall on Saturday 11 February with an ace band featuring Fife guitar great, Robbie Hill. Also on the bill for the ‘Blues Afternoon’ are The Troublemakers together with Dunfermline’s own Chris Agnew playing a set of boogie and blues. Fancy some festive Frank at the Fire Station this Christmas Eve?

This Christmas Eve, get into a mellow, festive mood at the Fire Station, Dunfermline. Talented, young jazz singer Megan MacPhie will be performing all the smooth Christmas favourites including Let it Snow, Winter Wonderland and It’s Beginning to Feel a Lot Like Christmas. First Christmas market at Fire Station Creative, Dunfermline

You may still be in denial that Christmas is happening but we’re going to tell you about a festive market anyway. This year Fire Station Creative is hosting its first Christmas market complete with mulled wine and mince pies.  Timed to coincide with the Dunfermline’s High Street Christmas light switch-on Saturday 19 November, the market will be open from 10am until 4pm, with live music by Opus 8 at 2.30pm.
