Congratulations to Dundee which has received the global recognition and title of UNESCO City of Design, the only UK city (along with Helsinki, Turin, Bilbao and Curitiba) to join 12 others including Kobe, Montréal, Seoul, Berlin and Buenos Aires. There are many reasons why Dundee has received this title; from the much-anticipated V&A and its surrounding waterfront development which will host new creative studios, District10, created from shipping containers. Then there’s city successful designers such as textile designer, Hayley Scanlan. But there’s much more happening in this galvanised city – check out the Creative Dundee website.
Also worth checking out is Humans of Dundee, a charming Facebook page inspired by Humans of New York, described as ‘a photo census of the people of the Scottish city Dundee and the surrounding area’.
