The Court House, Kinross; coffee bar and restaurant

The Court House Coffee Bar & Restaurant in Kinross, Perthshire opened in Spring 2015.  The two local entrepreneurs, Jamie Fraser and Gerry Alexander, who started the restaurant, have created a lovely interior from the former Court House. Although it’s a long time since it was a court house – the last case was in 1977 – the history does provide a good back story. For instance, the room now used

Beautiful views & good food, Forrester Park, Fife

Known more for its golf course and as a wedding venue, Forrester Park Resort, in the village of Cairneyhill, near Dunfermline, tends to get overlooked as a restaurant. Often it’s not busy and Trip Advisor comments point to a lack of atmosphere. That may be true but the views across the 350 acres of parkland are beautiful and the food is good. Robert Forrester, the owner who built the course

It was a long way to travel to get a photo of a signpost. However, these days visitors to John O’Groats are less likely to turn on their heel disappointed at travelling all that way just for some signage. Locating in the West Nile/Buchanan Street area, Cote follows two other chains, Bill’s and Las Iguanas.

Success for Rosyth Community Market

Stall holders at the very busy Rosyth Community Market offered a few explanations for event’s success. Fiona Frazer, Woodlea Stables, who had to nip back to Crossgates twice to restock bread, believes it’s because ‘people in Rosyth are very loyal to their community’.
