It must be spring; the snowdrops have raised their delicate heads above ground. A great place to see them is on the Valleyfield Snowdrop guided walks hosted by West Fife Woodlands & Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre. All are welcome to come along and join the free guided walks and hear the story of Valleyfield House and Estate. The Valleyfield House and Estate is a fascinating story; Fife’s answer to Downton was featured here previously on Avocado Sweet.

These guided walks will follow a carefully chosen trail through carpets of naturalised snowdrops and remnants of a beautiful landscape designed by great 18th century landscape designer Humphry Repton.
The dates are;

February
Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th
Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th

March
Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th
Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th

The walks leave from the public car park at Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre at 2pm and last approximately 1 hour.  Afterwards refreshments will be available at the riding centre.

Recommended access is the Shiresmill entrance to Valleyfield Woodland Park where toilets will be available at the riding centre (during walks only) All the walks are free but donations will be gratefully accepted. These are shared equally between West Fife Woodlands and Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre.
