Don’t mention the F-word … yes, he’s from Falkirk but the writer and performer, Alan Bissett, is very funny and is coming to The Canmore, Dunfermline on Saturday 9 September.  If you need a reason to come to his event,  check out the video (below) where he tells us why he’s a writer – it’s cut with a wry tour of the writer’s residence – his very unremarkable flat.  Currently performing in his one woman show, (More) Moira Monologues about Moira, the hardest woman in Falkirk, it’s easy to see why he’s achieved that elusive combination that Variety call ‘clever and crowdpleasing’.

Alan will be reading from his latest book, Collected Plays as well as performing improvised theatre and is one of the writers in an exciting line-up of authors curated by local author Caroline Copeland as part of Dunfermline’s new Outwith Festival. The arts festival, which is being organised by Dunfermline Delivers, in conjunction with Fire Station Creative and Avocado Sweet, includes music, comedy, theatre and literature and runs from Thursday 7 September until Sunday 10 September 2017.

You can book here. Tickets are £5.90. Alan Bissett, 12.30pm Saturday 9 September at The Canmore, 25 Canmore St, Dunfermline KY12 7NU
